The Anapa's Zonal Experimental Station of Wine growing and Wine-making was formed in 1922. Scientific and technical activities of Station is concentrated on the complex scientific ensuring of development of vine growing and wine-making branch of the Azovo-Chernomorskiy coast of Krasnodar Region.

The director is Pankin Mikhail Ivanovich, the Doctor of agricultural sciences, Docent, the Honored worker of agriculture of Kuban.

Zhukov Aleksander Ivanovich, the Laureate of the State Award of the Russian Federation and the Award of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science Winner of the State Award of the Russian Federation is working at the Station.

The main activities of AZESV&W:
- preservation of grapes gene pool for selection and creation of donors and sources of economic and significant traits;
- breeding, clones selection and creation of new grapes varieties;
- development of new constructional decisions in the grapes production;
- development of scientific justified system of keeping of nursery planting;
- development of the integrated and biological methods of vineyards protection against wreckers and diseases;
- research and complex assessment of soil and climatic conditions for justification of criterions of lands assessment for high-quality wine grooving and wine-making;
- microwine-making and creation of new wine brands.

By scientists of AZESV&W are created:
– 34 new grapes varieties with complex resistance to wreckers and diseases, 25 of which are included in the State Register of the varieties allowed to use;
– 9 new rootstocks, 7 of which are zoned.
It is developed:
- the new forms of grapes bushes and the modified grapes technology of production, considerably increasing the crop and quality of grapes and reducing the capital and current expenditure on care of the vineyard;
- the differentiated system of fertilizer at vineyards for different soil types;
- the method of assessment and selection of carbonate soils for grafted vineyards;
- AZESV&W scale for selection of scion-rootstoks combinations for carbonate soils;
- the method of grapes treatment from carbonate chlorosis, the introduction of iron chelates reduces the degree of bushes chlorosis to 35-40 % and raises a crop to 45 %;
- the biological method of vineyards protection against a lime chlorosis on the basis of application of the "bioantichlorozin" received from accumulative cultures of iron bacteriums; this method allows to reduce the degree of chlorosis by 40-50% and to increase the grapes crop on 15-20 c/hectare;
- tank mix of herbicides to increase of herbicides efficiency and reduction of their dosages, that destroy the perennial weeds to 95-100 %;
- the technology of protection of grapes planting material against drying up and mold; the technology of vineyards laying on the salted soils;
- the methodical recommendations about application of a microfocal X-ray analysis for the express assessment of accretion quality of grafted grapes saplings, the express assessment of a prevalence of grapes shanks and saplings by vascular necrosis and the express analysis of grapes seeds;
- the recipe of unique trade mark's wines and the production technology of wines with extended the enotherapy's properties.
